I really don't know how some people live with themselves, this story is absolutely disgusting. A father and son fraudster team lived the high life after conning hundreds of pounds out of elderly and vulnerable people in South Yorkshire for mobility aids that they never received.

The two shameless scammers, Shane and Laurence Johnson, were jailed yesterday, beginning a 12-month prison term after setting up a mobility aids firm that targeted vulnerable people by cold-calling.

Four elderly people in South Yorkshire fell victim to the scam, including 86 year old May Bell, who handed over £1795 for a stairlift which never arrived. She needed the lift because she suffers from arthritis and hip and joint problems, but was left stuck in the downstairs of her home after an electrician disconnected her old stairlift and the Johnsons delivered no replacement.

Instead, the conmen bought themselves Porsche and Maserati sports cars and paid themselves and their family huge pay packets.

There are no words really, it's a shame they're not locked up for longer.
